Special Investigator Hale Guyer is a retired law enforcement officer and instructor in the Northern Illinois area specializing in frauds, scams, and high technology crime investigation.  With over 32 years of experience, he has provided training and appeared at conferences for law enforcement and the general public throughout the United States and Europe.

Guyer is a licensed private detective in the State of Illinois (License #115-001884), Adjunct faculty/Instructor for the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, College of Dupage, a member of the National Association of Chiefs of Police, International Police Association, High Technology Crime Investigation Association, International Law Enforcement Educators and Trainers Association, National Association of Investigative Specialists, a consultant for the Office of Victims of Crime Training and Technical Assistance, and a certified instructor through the Illinois Police Training and Standards Board on topics of:

Confidence Crimes, Computer Fraud, Investigating Crimes Against Seniors, Understanding Internet Investigations, Cyber-stalking and Online Identity Theft,  Scams, Frauds and Con Games, and Cyber Terrorism. 

He is is the recipient of the Governor's Award for Excellence for personal achievement in law enforcement training, and an Award for Excellence from the Suburban Law Enforcement Academy, College of Dupage, along with the John Edgar Hoover Memorial Gold Medal for Distinguished Public Service Award.
